General Information
What is solar film, and how does it work?
Solar film is a thin laminate that blocks up to 99% of UV rays, 75-80% of solar heat, and reduces glare by up to 85%. Demonstrations are available at our workspace using solar lamps and various film packages.
What are the benefits of installing solar film on my vehicle?
Installing solar film enhances comfort by reducing heat and glare, protects interior surfaces from sun damage, and increases privacy to some extent with darker films.
Product Options and Specifications
What is the best solar window film available?
We offer a range of solar films to suit different preferences and budgets, tailored for various levels of anti-heat performance.
What are the differences between your film packages?
Our film packages differ primarily in their Infra-Red Rejection (IRR%) levels, affecting their heat rejection capabilities.
What does 20% tint mean?
A 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through, providing substantial darkness for increased privacy and reduced glare.
What is Visible Light Transmission (VLT)?
VLT is a measure of how much light a film allows through, important for assessing both privacy and clarity.
What is the darkest legal tint I can use in Singapore?
According to local regulations, the front windscreen and front side windows must allow at least 70% of light through, while the rear windows must allow at least 25%.
Installation
How long does the installation take?
The installation process typically takes less than 2 hours, and you can relax in our customer lounge or explore nearby amenities during this time.
Can I install the window film myself?
We do not recommend DIY installations as they require technical skills and can risk damage to both the film and the vehicle.
Is the tint installed inside or outside?
The tint is and can only be installed on the inside of the vehicle. What you may see in some of our videos, where the film is laid outside, is part of the preparation process.
Will my ERP/OBU unit still function properly after film installation?
Yes, our solar films are designed not to interfere with electronic devices like ERP units.
Infratint’s window films are fully compatible with Singapore’s next-generation On-Board Units (OBU) for ERP 2.0, so you’ll enjoy maximum heat rejection and crystal-clear signals, worry-free.
My windscreen already has a VEP RFID tag / Grab decals / a dash-cam / IU / OBU Unit. Will you remove and reinstall these when you tint the windows?
Yes, our team will settle all of the above for you.
Maintenance and Warranty
How long do solar window films last?
Our high-quality films typically last between 7-10 years without a noticeable decline in performance, backed by a warranty that covers various defects.
What are your warranty policies?
We provide a 2-7 year warranty, depending on the film package purchased, covering issues like bubbling, peeling, and fading.
How long should I wait to roll down my windows after installation?
We recommend keeping the windows closed for at least 48 hours after installation to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
Cost and Options
How much does your film cost?
Prices start at $288 for a full installation covering six panels.
Can I just tint one window or the front-windscreen only?
While possible, we recommend tinting at least the front three panels for effective UV and heat protection.
Do you sell your window film on its own?
To ensure the highest quality and performance, we only sell our films with professional installation included.
